  • Fire Chief Benny Nichols Scholarship
    Sponsor: Cumberland Community Foundation

    Eligibility: Applicants must be students or recent graduates of any high school in Cumberland County who are current members of volunteer or paid fire department in Cumberland County. Students must plan to enroll in Fayetteville Technical Community College or Fayetteville State University, majoring in fire science. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA to reapply.

  • Hugh Hemsley Scholarship
    Sponsor: Eastern Virginia Medical School

    Eligibility: Applicants must be students with good academic standing accepted into the MD program at EVMS, third or fourth-year medical students who have indicated an interest in emergency medicine and experience as a first responder (EMT, Police Officer, Firefighter; Volunteer or Paid) in the past five years. Students must present documentation of their experience and provide a brief essay of 250 or less describing their experience as a first responder.

  • IAFC Foundation Scholarship
    June 25
    Sponsor: International Association of Fire Chiefs Foundation

    Eligibility: Applicants must be active members with a minimum of three years volunteer work, two years paid work or a combination of paid and volunteer work of three years with a state, county, provincial, municipal, community, industrial or federal fire department who will use the scholarship at an accredited institution of higher education. Students must submit application forms, statements, a list of credits and a transcript. Preference is given to those demonstrating need, desire and initiative.
