  • Emily M. Hewitt Memorial Scholarship
    April 15
    Sponsor: Calaveras Big Trees Association

    Eligibility: Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an accredited California post-secondary educational institution and must have career goals that are related to communicating and interpreting nature's wonder. Students pursuing degrees in environmental protection, forestry, wildlife and fisheries biology, parks and recreation, park management, environmental law and public policy, environmental art and California history are encouraged to apply. Selection is based on dedication to the ideals of the scholarship and financial need.

    How to apply: Student must submit a statement of personal and career goals, a resume (and portfolio if applicable) and transcripts of all college work completed to date. On the cover page, include your name, address, phone number and college major.

  • Federal Junior Duck Stamp Program and Scholarship Competition
    March 15
    Sponsor: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Headquarters

    Eligibility: Applicants must be in kindergarten to 12th grade and submit their artwork to their state or local department. Students must be U.S. citizens, resident aliens or nationals. The first place national winner has their art made into the next Federal Junior Duck Stamp and travels with a parent to the next First Day of Sale event for their stamp.

  • Making for Good Challenge
    Up to $15,000

    Sponsor: Discovery Education and Stanley Becker & Decker

    Eligibility: Applicants must work in teams of two to four to design a product solution that will help solve an environmental or societal problem. Students must create a product design blueprint and submit a 60- to 90-second video discussing the problem. Applicants must use the six step engineering design process: ask, imagine, plan, create, test and improve. Students must be legal U.S. residents enrolled in 9th - 12th grade at a public, private, parochial or home school located in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.

    Eligibility: Applicants must be incoming first-year students at Pace Law School. They must be currently enrolled in or have earned a bachelor's or master's degree from an Environmental Consortium of Hudson Valley member institution. Selection is based on the application and academic record. Recipients are expected to complete at least one research project pertaining to environmental issues involving the Hudson Valley while attending Pace.

    Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens, undergraduate students with senior standing enrolled full-time or graduate students enrolled full-time.
