    Eligibility: Applicants must be age 21 or older. They must be able to work in the U.S. legally. Professional writing experience is not necessary, but applicants must have strong spec script writing skills. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

  • Humane Studies Fellowship: Flexible Support for PhD Students
    Up to $5,000

    Sponsor: Institute for Humane Studies at George Mason University

    Eligibility: Applicants must be full-time students in an MA or PhD program. Students at any university and international students are eligible to apply. Priority is given to applicants at top research institutions. Previous applicants and winners are welcome to apply. Prior participation in IHS programs is not required.

  • Playwright Discovery Award

    Sponsor: John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

    Eligibility: Applicants must be students in grades 6-12. Applicants are to create an original one-act script of less than 40 pages that documents the experience of living with a disability. Applicants must have a disability, or the script can be a collaboration of a group of up to 5 students with one student having a disability. Selected scripts will be performed for middle school, high school and adult audiences. First and second place winners will have their plays performed at the JFK Performing Arts Center.
