  • Chicana/Latina Foundation Scholarship
    $1,500

    Sponsor: Chicana/Latina Foundation Scholarship Program

    Eligibility: Applicants must be Chicana/Latina women who have lived in the Northern California counties for at least two years and are attending school at an accredited institution in the same region. Undergraduate applicants must be full-time students who have completed at least 15 semester units and earned a 2.5 GPA. Applicants must demonstrate leadership and community involvement and agree to volunteer at least five years in support of the Chicana/Latina Foundation if they receive the scholarship.

  • Jose Marti Scholarship Challenge Grant

    Eligibility: Applicants must have been born in or have a natural parent who was born in either Mexico or Spain, or a Hispanic country of the Caribbean, Central or South America, regardless of race. Students must plan to attend Florida public or eligible private institutions as undergraduate or graduate students, but graduating high school seniors get preference.

  • Minority Fellowship Program
    $20,000

    Sponsor: American Sociological Association Minority Fellowship Program

    Eligibility: Applicants must be enrolled in and have completed one full year in a Ph.D. program in Sociology. Students must be members of an underrepresented minority group in the U.S.: African American, Latino, Asian/Pacific Islander or American Indians/Alaska Natives. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens, non-citizen nationals of the U.S. or have been lawfully admitted to the U.S. for permanent residence. The fellowship is awarded for 12 months and typically renewable for up to three years in total. Tuition and fees are arranged with the home department. MFP Fellows are selected each year by the MFP Advisory Panel, a rotating, appointed group of senior scholars in sociology. Fellows can be involved in any area of sociological research, though particular MFP award lines devoted to drug abuse research may be possible contingent on funding.

  • Minority Scholarship

    Sponsor: National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Foundation

    Eligibility: Applicants must be African American, Hispanic, Asian American or Native American students working toward a graduate degree related to strength and conditioning. Students must be NSCA members for one year before applying and be pursuing careers in strength and conditioning. Applications are evaluated based on grades, courses, experience, honors, recommendations and involvement in the community and with NSCA.

    Eligibility: Applicants must be CIEE Study Center participants. They must be students who are self-identified as being from a group that is underrepresented in study abroad programs. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.
