  • Alabama G.I. Dependents' Scholarship

    Eligibility: Applicants must be the children, stepchildren, spouse or un-remarried widow(er) of a veteran with service-related disabilities rated at 20 percent or more; whose parent/spouse died with such a rating; whose parent/spouse was a POW; whose parent/spouse was declared an MIA or whose parent/spouse died during active military service in the line of duty. The scholarship pays up to five years of full tuition at any Alabama state-supported institution of higher learning including mandatory textbooks. The scholarship also covers 18 months of technical training including mandatory textbooks at any Alabama state-supported technical school.

  • California Fee Waiver Program for Children of Veterans

    Eligibility: Applicants must be the children, spouses, unmarried surviving spouses or registered domestic partners of veterans who are deceased or totally disabled due to service-related causes. The veteran must have served during a qualifying war period, and the child must be under 27 years of age (30 if the child is a veteran). There is no age limit for spouses or domestic partners. Children of veterans who have a service-connected disability, had one at the time of death or died of service-related causes may qualify if their income is at or below the national poverty level. In this case, there is no age limit.

  • Children of Veterans Tuition Grant

    Eligibility: Applicants must be older than 16 and less than 26 years of age who are the natural or adopted child of a Michigan veteran who died or became totally and permanently disabled as a result of military service. Students must be enrolled at least half-time, be Michigan residents for one year prior to program application, and be U.S. citizens, permanent residents or approved refugees. Applicants must not be in default on a Federal student loan.

  • Exemption from Tuition Fees for Dependents of Kentucky Veterans

    Eligibility: Applicants must be children, stepchildren, adopted children, spouses or unremarried widows or widowers of qualifying Kentucky veterans.   • Louisiana Veterans State Aid Program

    Eligibility: Applicants must be children or surviving spouses of United States Armed Forces veterans who died or became at least 90 percent disabled in service or from a service-connected disability incurred during wartime. Deceased veterans must have been a Louisiana resident for at least 12 months before entering the service, and disabled veterans must have lived in the state at least 24 months prior to the dependent's admission into the program. Spouses must use the program within 10 years of establishing eligibility, and children must be between 16 and 25 years of age.

  • Ohio War Orphans & Severely Disabled Veterans' Children Scholarship
