  • Alabama G.I. Dependents' Scholarship

    Eligibility: Applicants must be the children, stepchildren, spouse or un-remarried widow(er) of a veteran with service-related disabilities rated at 20 percent or more; whose parent/spouse died with such a rating; whose parent/spouse was a POW; whose parent/spouse was declared an MIA or whose parent/spouse died during active military service in the line of duty. The scholarship pays up to five years of full tuition at any Alabama state-supported institution of higher learning including mandatory textbooks. The scholarship also covers 18 months of technical training including mandatory textbooks at any Alabama state-supported technical school.

  • California Fee Waiver Program for Children of Veterans

    Eligibility: Applicants must be the children, spouses, unmarried surviving spouses or registered domestic partners of veterans who are deceased or totally disabled due to service-related causes. The veteran must have served during a qualifying war period, and the child must be under 27 years of age (30 if the child is a veteran). There is no age limit for spouses or domestic partners. Children of veterans who have a service-connected disability, had one at the time of death or died of service-related causes may qualify if their income is at or below the national poverty level. In this case, there is no age limit.

  • Exemption from Tuition Fees for Dependents of Kentucky Veterans

    Eligibility: Applicants must be children or surviving spouses of United States Armed Forces veterans who died or became at least 90 percent disabled in service or from a service-connected disability incurred during wartime.     Eligibility: Applicants must have a parent who served in the United States Armed Forces during Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf, Vietnam or Korean Conflicts or World War II.     Eligibility: Applicants must be children of deceased or severely disabled Ohio war veterans. They must be Ohio residents under the age of 25, have a minimum 2.0 GPA and be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program at an eligible Ohio institution of higher learning. The award covers all instructional charges and general fees at public institutions and a portion of them at private institutions.
