Eligibility: Applicants must be the children, stepchildren, spouse or un-remarried widow(er) of a veteran with service-related disabilities rated at 20 percent or more; whose parent/spouse died with such a rating; whose parent/spouse was a POW; whose parent/spouse was declared an MIA or whose parent/spouse died during active military service in the line of duty. The scholarship pays up to five years of full tuition at any Alabama state-supported institution of higher learning including mandatory textbooks. The scholarship also covers 18 months of technical training including mandatory textbooks at any Alabama state-supported technical school.

California Fee Waiver Program for Children of Veterans Full tuition

Eligibility: Applicants must be the children, spouses, unmarried surviving spouses or registered domestic partners of veterans who are deceased or totally disabled due to service-related causes. The veteran must have served during a qualifying war period, and the child must be under 27 years of age (30 if the child is a veteran). There is no age limit for spouses or domestic partners. Children of veterans who have a service-connected disability, had one at the time of death or died of service-related causes may qualify if their income is at or below the national poverty level. In this case, there is no age limit.
Exemption from Tuition Fees for Dependents of Kentucky Veterans Full tuition

Eligibility: Applicants must be children, stepchildren, adopted children, spouses or unremarried widows or widowers of qualifying Kentucky veterans. The veteran must have died on active duty or as a result of a service-connected disability, be 100 percent disabled from service, be totally disabled with wartime service or be deceased and have served during wartime. Children of veterans must be 26 years of age or younger.

Folds of Honor Higher Education Scholarship $5,000

Eligibility: Applicants must be spouses or children of U.S. service members who were killed in action, lost a limb, died while on active duty or who has at least a 10 percent combined service-connected evaluation. Students must be currently attending or recently accepted into an accredited degree program or vocation program.
Eligibility: Applicants must be Kentucky or Indiana residents and U.S. military veterans or spouses or children of a veteran living or deceased. Students must be graduating high school seniors or currently enrolled students at a two- or four-year college or university with a minimum 3.0 GPA. An essay submission on a provided prompt is required.
Louisiana Veterans State Aid Program Full tuition and fees

Eligibility: Applicants must be children or surviving spouses of United States Armed Forces veterans who died or became at least 90 percent disabled in service or from a service-connected disability incurred during wartime. Deceased veterans must have been a Louisiana resident for at least 12 months before entering the service, and disabled veterans must have lived in the state at least 24 months prior to the dependent's admission into the program. Spouses must use the program within 10 years of establishing eligibility, and children must be between 16 and 25 years of age.

Eligibility: Applicants must be children, spouses or dependents of members of the United States Armed Forces or state organized militia who died or became severely and permanently disabled while engaged in hostilities or training for hostilities any time on or after August 2, 1990 and while a resident of New York.
Eligibility: Applicants must be the children, stepchildren, spouses or widows of veterans who died of a service-connected injury or illness, became totally and permanently disabled as a result of military service or was classified as MIA or POW during armed conflict after August 4th, 1964. They must be Nebraska residents and attend a state college, university or community college.

Wells Fargo Veterans Scholarship Program Up to $5,000

Eligibility: Applicants must be honorably-discharged veterans or spouses of disabled veterans who have graduated high school (or obtained a GED) and who have served in the U.S. military. Students must have at least a 2.0 GPA and plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational school the following fall. Award will increase with renewal to encourage completion of program.
