Funding Graduate School through Scholarships

Scholarships are one of the best ways to cover some of your graduate school education expenses since they don’t have to be repaid. Alder provides several scholarships and has compiled a list of external scholarships to get you started.

Scholarships Provided by Alder

Alder Residency Scholarship 

The goal of the Alder Residency Scholarship is to provide financial support to residents to meet the specific demands of the residency program and increase the likelihood of enrolling and completing the Alder’s Master’s & Credential Teacher Residency program. This includes supporting candidates who have demonstrated financial need and candidates who reflect the communities Alder serves and specific subject areas.

How to Apply

Candidates who are conditionally accepted to their partner may apply for the Alder Residency Partner. For the 2024-2025 Cohort, the second scholarship deadline is May 1, 2024. For those who applied by the first deadline of February 15, 2024, candidates will hear back by March 30th.

To apply click on the scholarship link at the top right corner of your application portal once you are logged in. Once an applicant is conditionally accepted they will be able to start on application on this tab.

For most scholarships, there are specific criteria you have to match in order to qualify. The six areas listed here are some of the most common criteria:

  • Academic level
  • Subject or grade level taught
  • Demographics/personal profile
  • Geography
  • Academic or extracurricular track record
  • Club or organizational affiliation
