Institutional Scholarships

Scholarships are types of aid that do not require repayment. They come from many sources and can be based on criteria that includes, but not limited to academic achievement, athletic ability, geographical location, departmental and community involvement, areas of study, and/or financial need, as well as other factors.

Georgia Tech is proud to offer awards from more than 850 institutional named scholarships. Institutional scholarships are awarded by Georgia Tech to help offset a student's costs to attend the Institution.

When you complete the financial aid application process at Tech, you are automatically considered for all scholarships and grants. Criteria for these scholarships vary. The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid will match candidates from the overall pool of financial aid applicants.

The amount of the scholarship will vary and may be renewable or one-time awards. Students should apply each year to be considered for scholarships.

Generally, entering first-year students are limited to receiving institutional scholarships for the first eight (8) terms of full-time enrollment. During an academic year, scholarships are generally awarded for two (2) semesters (Fall, Spring, or Summer). A transfer student's term-limit eligibility will be determined on an individual basis depending upon hours transferred.

The programs listed below include specialized programming opportunities for students.

G. Wayne Clough Tech Promise Program	The G. Wayne Clough Georgia Tech Promise Program provides a debt-free degree to qualifying students from low-income Georgia families, covering a student’s full cost of attendance.
Georgia Tech Val-Sal Scholarship	Georgia Tech Scholars with significant financial need as demonstrated through the financial aid application process may be eligible to receive an annual $2,500 Georgia Tech Val-Sal Scholarship.
Scheller College of Business Dean's and Faculty Merit Scholarships	The Scheller College of Business offers scholarship and award opportunities specifically for current and prospective College of Business students.
School of Economics Undergraduate Scholarships	The School of Economics annually awards a number of scholarships. Selection is based on merit, defined in terms of academic performance as well as leadership and involvement in the Institute and School of Economics activities and organizations.
Stamps President's Scholars Program	Georgia Tech’s prestigious four-year, full-ride Stamps President’s Scholarship is offered annually to the top one percent of first-year students.
Provost Scholarship	The Provost Scholarship awards 40 first-year, non-resident students an out-of-state tuition waiver for eight semesters. Scholars are selected by the Office of Special Scholarships.
Gold Scholars Program	Georgia Tech’s prestigious four-year, Gold Scholarship is offered annually to the top two percent of first-year students. Selected in same process as Stamps President’s Scholars.
Georgia Tech Alumni Network Scholarships	These scholarships are provided by our alumni volunteers. There are three categories of scholarships: geographic, corporate, and affinity.
Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts Dean’s Scholarship	Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts awards Dean’s Scholarships in recognition of incoming first-year students with a high school record of academic excellence, visionary leadership, and outstanding public service.
Godbold Scholarship	The guiding principle of the Godbold Scholarship Program is to provide economic access while rewarding academic achievement.
BlackRock Hallac Scholarship	BlackRock will provide an annual expendable gift to fund two cost of attendance scholarships each year for undergraduate students with significant, demonstrated financial need who have successfully completed their first year of study with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
