It’s time for the Don’t mess with Texas® 2024 scholarship! This year, two litter-free Texas high school seniors will be awarded $5,000 each, courtesy of our partners at Ozarka and iHeartMedia. Take a look at our guidelines below to see if they apply to you or a high school senior in your life. Scholarship Guidelines
Who can apply?
We are looking for Texas high school seniors who:
- Attend public or private school, or are homeschooled in the state of Texas
- Are planning to attend an accredited college, university or trade school in the United States
- Have developed creative anti-litter programs or events that have made a positive impact on their school or community
- Can show the positive impact of their anti-littering efforts through reference letters from school or community leaders, school or community newspaper articles or news stories
What are the submission questions?
Students must describe in detail:
- How their actions support the Don’t mess with Texas litter prevention and beautification initiative
- How they identified a litter-related problem in their community or school
- Their creative sustainable solution to address the trash problem and the motivation behind it
- How they motivated others
- Results of their project
What will the winners receive?
Two Don’t mess with Texas scholarship winners will receive $5,000 each toward their education, courtesy of our partners at Ozarka and iHeartMedia.
