The grower-members who make up the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) are committed to broadening educational opportunities and opening doors to students passionate about serving rural America and keeping their family farms thriving. 

 

There are currently four national scholarships offered for four distinct audiences:  

 

  • Research Students
  • Technical School/Community College Students
  • Undergraduate Students
  • Graduate Students

To be eligible for any national scholarships listed below, you must be an NCGA member. To become an NCGA member, click here or contact your State Corn Association.

NCGA Research Ambassador Program

What is the NCGA Research Ambassador Program?   The purpose of the NCGA Research Ambassador Program is to build a network of future leaders in the agriculture sector. Students will be selected each year to receive financial support as well as travel and networking opportunities.   Ambassadors must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and be involved in research relevant to corn production.     Why apply? Students selected as NCGA Research Ambassadors will receive the following:   Financial award of $2,500 directly to the student; Up to $750 for registration and travel reimbursement for participation in scientific research conferences; Fully-funded travel to participate in NCGA events throughout the year, which could include grower research committee meetings, congressional visits at the state or federal level, Commodity Classic, Corn Congress, farm field days, etc.   Who can apply? Technical School/Community College Scholarship Program

  ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must be an NCGA member or the child of an NCGA member. A completed application must be submitted by January 31, 2024, by 11:59 p.m. Central Time. Scholarships are for one year. Previous recipients may not apply. For rural America to remain strong and vibrant, it needs a diverse workforce. NCGA William C. Berg Academic Excellence

Undergraduate Scholarship

  ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must be an NCGA member or the child of an NCGA member. Employees and the families of employees of NCGA or any division of BASF or their subsidiaries are not eligible for the scholarship. A completed application must be submitted by January 31, 2024, by 11:59 p.m. Central Time. Scholarships are for one year. Previous recipients may not apply.   The William C. Berg Academic Excellence Undergraduate Scholarship is supported in partnership with BASF. Graduate Student Scholarship

  ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Applicant must be an NCGA member or the child of an NCGA member. Applicants must be pursuing a graduate degree in an agriculture field. A completed application must be submitted by January 31, 2024, by 11:59 p.m. Central Time. Scholarships are for one year. Previous recipients may not apply.   NCGA understands the role of research and scientific discovery in production agriculture. We are proud to recognize the hard work and contributions of today’s graduate students who are working in the critical areas of Digital/Precision Ag, Germplasm/Breeding, Agronomy, Crop Protection, and Sustainability.
