SCHOLARSHIPS

You Could Qualify!

Post-secondary education is vital to the future of Saginaw. We’re ensuring that our local workforce is getting all the advantages they can get by supporting scholarship opportunities for people just like you.

Since 1987, the Community Foundation has awarded more than $10.6 million in scholarships for high school, community college, university and Career and Technical Education students.

Scholarship applications open online on November 1 and are due by the second Friday in February the following year.

Before you begin your application, we recommend you review a list of information and items you will need to complete your application. If you have additional questions, review our frequently asked questions or call the foundation at (989) 755-0545.

Selection Process

Community volunteers of all ages and backgrounds review a packet of applications from students they do not know. These volunteers score the students in 10 different areas – such as leadership, volunteer service, extracurricular activities and questionnaires – according to the provided guidelines. To assure fairness, every student is reviewed by five different volunteers and their score is averaged. These scores determine the student that will be awarded each scholarship. Scholarship recipients are notified by mid-May each year.
